Disability Advice

reading time 1 min

Years ago a co-worker noticed something about our company’s disability policy.

He noticed that the pay-out for losing a finger was a certain amount of money. However, the pay-out for losing all 10 fingers was more than 10x that amount.

His advice was: If you lose 9 fingers… go for the 10th. Don’t leave money on the table.

Engineers. Go figure.

P.S. I work at a different company now. I’m haven’t checked the policy.
